Common questions about Symbol delegated harvesting and the harvest-xym node.

Do I need to contact the node operator before delegating?

No.

You can add or remove delegated harvesting from Symbol Desktop Wallet without contacting harvest-xym first.

Node URL:

symbol-node.harvest-xym.com

How do I start delegated harvesting?

Start with:

Never send your private key, mnemonic, or wallet password to a node operator.

How much XYM do I need?

Symbol mainnet requires at least 10,000 XYM for harvesting eligibility.

You should hold a little more than 10,000 XYM because the setup transactions also require fees.

I deposited 10,000 XYM but importance is still zero

Importance is not updated continuously.

On mainnet, it is recalculated every 720 blocks, roughly every six hours. Because harvesting probability uses recent importance information, a newly funded account can take around 12 hours before it becomes harvest-eligible in practice.

Why am I not harvesting even though status is ACTIVE?

ACTIVE means delegated harvesting is enabled. It does not guarantee a reward within a certain period.

Harvesting probability depends on account importance, so long intervals without a reward are possible.

Why does the wallet stay IN PROGRESS?

The wallet has sent the delegation request but has not yet confirmed that the node accepted it.

Possible reasons include:

If it stays that way for a long time, try another healthy node.

What does FAILED mean?

Desktop Wallet could not activate delegated harvesting or could not confirm the state.

Check:

  1. Wallet version
  2. Internet connection
  3. Node URL
  4. Whether another node works

Symbol documentation also notes that in some situations the wallet can show FAILED even when delegation is actually active, so checking node and account state can be useful.

Is a wallet login problem caused by my harvesting node?

Usually not.

Logging in to a local wallet profile and the availability of your delegated harvesting node are separate issues. Check the wallet application and network connection independently.

What if the harvest-xym node is offline?

Use a public node monitor to confirm its status. If it disappears from monitoring or remains offline, you can delegate to another healthy Symbol node.

Does harvest-xym provide investment advice?

No. This site provides technical and usage information about Symbol and delegated harvesting. It does not provide individualized investment advice.
