Symbol Node List: How to Choose a Harvesting Node
How to evaluate a Symbol (XYM) node for delegated harvesting, including uptime, delegation capacity, priority policy, API role, and reward policy.
Updated
With Symbol delegated harvesting, you choose the node that receives your delegation request.
Changing nodes does not increase your account’s importance by itself. However, node uptime, available delegation capacity, acceptance policy, and reward policy can affect whether delegated harvesting continues normally.
1. Check whether the node is online
Start with uptime.
Useful public node lists include:
Temporary maintenance can happen on any node, but a node that remains offline is not a useful delegation target.
2. Check delegation capacity
Nodes can limit the number of delegated harvesters they accept.
A request can fail even when your account is configured correctly if the node is full.
If Desktop Wallet remains IN PROGRESS or FAILED, capacity is one of the things to check.
3. Check the delegation priority policy
Node operators can configure how delegation slots are prioritized.
For the harvest-xym node, public information reviewed on October 5, 2026 showed:
policy: age
Max: 200
Age means older accepted delegations are generally prioritized ahead of newer ones.
4. Prefer a node that is easy to verify
Symbol Desktop Wallet commonly works with nodes that expose the roles and endpoints needed by the wallet.
A Peer / API node is generally easier for normal Desktop Wallet users to inspect and use than a Peer-only node that requires manual transport public key handling.
5. Read the reward policy
Some operators publish additional policies around beneficiary rewards or rebates.
Do not compare only a headline percentage. Check:
- When the rule applies
- Which rewards it applies to
- Whether there are exceptions
- Whether the policy is still current
6. Check whether the operator publishes current information
For a long-term delegation, it helps if the operator provides:
- Node URL
- Current uptime information
- Delegation capacity
- Priority policy
- Reward policy
- A contact channel
Does a better node increase my harvesting probability?
The main factor behind your own harvesting probability is your account importance.
Moving to a popular node does not automatically make your account more likely to harvest a block. However, you still need a node that is online and has actually accepted your delegation.
